This year, I not only plan to read 52 books this year, I plan to be more intentional with what I choose to read. I am going to choose a fiction, historical, biographical and classic to read each month and then after I have read those four, I can read whatever I find that’s available. I will also have book club books to read from a moms group and the online book club on this site.
In January, I read the following six books (reviews to come soon):
- The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows
- 7 Men and the Secret of their Greatness by Eric Metaxas
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
- 11-22-63 by Stephen King
- The Real God by Chip Ingram
- 1776 by David McCullough
For February, here is my to-read list:
Fiction: The Final Day by William R. Forstchen
This is the third book in a series about life in America after an EMP turns the power off. I’m very interested to see how the story wraps up.
Historical: Rush Revere and the Presidency by Rush Limbaugh
My daughters are planning on reading this book and I enjoy reading what they’re reading so we can talk about it. I’ve enjoyed the first four Rush Revere books and am looking forward to this one.
Biographical: 7 Women and the Secret of Their Greatness by Eric Metaxas
I finished reading 7 Men and the Secret of Their Greatness in January and really enjoyed it, so I’m going to read this one next.
Inspirational: The Broken Way by Ann Voskamp
I want to try and read something inspirational each month and I do like Ann Voskamp’s writing style. She usually makes me think with her writing. This is her newest book, so I’m excited to read it.
Classic: All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
I have wanted to read this since visiting the World War I Museum in Kansas City. I didn’t get a chance to start it in January, so I’m planning to read it in February.
Online book club: The Last Days of Night by Graham Moore
Read more about this choice at the link above.
Moms book club: Magnolia Wednesdays by Wendy Wax
I don’t know much about this book at all, but the person who chose it for our book club has very good tastes in books, so it should be a good one.
Advanced Copies/Book Launch books:
Soprano Trouble by Victoria Kimble
Sunshine in Spring by Joi Copeland
Raising an Original by Julie Lyles Carr
Everything You Always Wanted to Know about God by Eric Metaxas
What are you reading right now? What are you planning to read this month?
