I am going to change up how I do my bookshelf on the blog. Although I enjoyed setting high reading goals in 2017, I’m ready to take it a little bit easier when it comes to what I read in 2018. So, I’m going to post about what I read the previous month instead of what I plan to read that month. Hope you still enjoy seeing my bookshelf!
I read 12 books in December 2017 and finished three more that I read throughout the entire year. I usually try to read some holiday books in December to get in the Christmas spirit. I also read a few inspirational books and biographies. Here’s the complete list (reviews will be posted on the blog soon):
Skipping Christmas by John Grishman
This was the December Online Book Club choice and I enjoyed reading the story about a couple who decides to forgo Christmas and go on a cruise – until a surprise changes their plans.
Lab Girl by Hope Jahren
This was an interesting autobiography about a plant scientist and her journey to find her own path.
The Trust Protocol by Mac Richard
I chose this as a Baker Books Blogger read and it was an interesting book about how all relationships do better with honesty and trust.
Louis L’Amour’s Lost Treasures
This was an advanced copy with NetGalley and I am really enjoying getting a glimpse into L’Amour’s writing style through pieces of manuscripts that were left behind and never published until now.
Death Without Company by Craig Johnson
I enjoy watching Longmire and also really enjoy reading the Longmire mysteries. The plots are different, but the characters are very close. This is the second Longmire mystery I’ve read and I plan to read more.
The Bible, Catechism of the Catholic Church
and The American Catholic Almanac by Brian Burch
I read these three throughout the entire year. I learned a lot from each and plan to read the Bible and Almanac again in 2018.
