Do you enjoy talking to people about what you read? If so, I’m glad you found this page. I’m starting a monthly online book club with questions posted twice a month for people to discuss.

January’s book is going to be The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows. I have not read this book yet – I will be reading it along with you. I have had this book on my list for several months because I really enjoyed another book the author co-wrote, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. That book is one of my favorites and I read it for a book club when I was in Alaska.

Here is the Goodreads description:

In the summer of 1938, Layla Beck’s father, a United States senator, cuts off her allowance and demands that she find employment on the Federal Writers’ Project, a New Deal jobs program. Within days, Layla finds herself far from her accustomed social whirl, assigned to cover the history of the remote mill town of Macedonia, West Virginia, and destined, in her opinion, to go completely mad with boredom. But once she secures a room in the home of the unconventional Romeyn family, she is drawn into their complex world and soon discovers that the truth of the town is entangled in the thorny past of the Romeyn dynasty.

We will not start the discussion of the book until Wednesday, Jan. 11, for the first half of the book and then a discussion of the whole book on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

February’s book will be announced early in January.

Comment below if you plan on joining us or if you’ve read the book before and what you thought of it! Looking forward to this online book club!
