What I’m reading: January 2017

This year, I not only plan to read 52 books this year, I plan to be more intentional with what I choose to read. I’ve usually just read something on my to-read list that is available at the library or I find on sale.

This year, I am going to choose a fiction, historical, biographical and classic to read each month and then after I have read those four, I can read whatever I find that’s available. I will also have book club books to read from a moms group and the online book club on this site.

So, for January, here is my to-read list:

Fiction: 11/22/63 by Stephen King

I have never read a Stephen King novel and this one is not a horror one, so I thought I’d give it a try.

Historical: 1776 by David McCullough

I read McCullough’s book on the Wright Brothers and thought his writing style was fantastic. He is highly recommended and I think I will learn a lot from this book.

Biographical: 7 Men and the Secret to their Greatness by Eric Metaxas

I have enjoyed every Eric Metaxas book I have read, especially his biography on Bonhoeffer. There is another book like this that he wrote called 7 Women and I plan to read that next month.
