#MeetTheWriter Wednesdays

Hello! I’m Sarah Anne Carter. I’m a writer, an avid reader, a mom of girls, wife of a pilot. I homeschool, garden, go to church, shop for grocery sales and crochet.

I’ve been writing since I was 10 years old. My teacher had us do a daily journal and she saw potential in my stories and poems. She let me type them up on the class typewriter (1988) and submitted them to an anthology published annually that featured work from military brats living in Asia. I was published!

I pursued journalism in college and have a large portfolio of newspaper and magazine articles and blog posts. I learned public relations and marketing while working as a civilian for the Air Force in public affairs.

I freelanced from home while I took care of my babies and then worked over a decade on a masters degree in communications.

Then, I started writing books. My first was published in 2019 and my fourth one was published in 2023. Three are with independent publishers, but now I’m choosing the self-publishing track.

I saw the #meetthewriter tag on Instagram and realized it has been a while since I’ve introduced myself. So, let’s explore the life of a writer every Wednesday for the next few weeks.
