A catalyst is the cause of change. The biggest catalyst in my life has been the military. Military life as a child and an adult has meant moving. Every move meant goodbyes and heartbreak. Every move meant new places and people.
Getting to see the world growing up has let me see things through a different lens.
I can write stories set in many different places and cultures. I can imagine many different characters since I’ve gotten to interact with so many different people.
I used to get the urge to move every few years, but now after 10 years of living in the same house, I love staying put for where I live. I always have the travel bug, though.
Where have I lived?
Colorado Springs, Colorado (twice); Okinawa (Japan), Ogden, Utah; Yokohama, Japan; Landstuhl, Germany; Waco, Texas; Omaha, Nebraska; Dayton, Ohio (twice); Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Columbus, Mississippi; Spanaway, Washington; Wasilla, Alaska; Warrensburg, Missouri.
