What I’m reading: March 2017

This year, I not only plan to read at least 52 books, I plan to be more intentional with what I choose to read. I usually just grab a book from my to-read pile or start reading what is available from my hold list on Overdrive. Instead, I am going to choose a fiction, historical, biographical, inspirational and classic to read each month and then after I have read those five, I can read whatever I find that’s available. I will also have book club books to read from a moms group and the online book club on this site. Oh, and there are the advanced copies I receive to review. Lots of reading going on here!

Fiction: The Michael Vey Series by Richard Paul Evans

This is a young adult series by my favorite author. One of my daughter’s has started reading the series and I’d like to read it with her.

Historical: Valkyrie by Philipp Fresher van Boeselager

This book has been in my stack of to-read nightstand books for a while. I bought it after the Valkyrie movie came out. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but probably will after I read this book.

Biographical: Fierce Convictions by Karen Swallow Prior

This is a biography of Hannah More and was recommended by Eric Metaxas in the book 7 Women and the Secret to Their Greatness. I found the Kindle version on sale.

Inspirational: Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist

I am trying to use my phone less during Lent and be more present with my family, so I think this book will be a big help. I’ve heard great things about it. I also have a study guide I’m going to use while I read it to get the most from the book.
