What I’m reading: March 2017 1

This year, I not only plan to read at least 52 books, I plan to be more intentional with what I choose to read. I usually just grab a book from my to-read pile or start reading what is available from my hold list on Overdrive. Instead, I am going to choose a fiction, historical, biographical, inspirational and classic to read each month and then after I have read those five, I can read whatever I find that’s available. I will also have book club books to read from a moms group and the online book club on this site. Oh, and there are the advanced copies I receive to review. Lots of reading going on here!

In February, I read the following 10 books (reviews to come soon):

For March, here is my to-read list:

FictionThe Michael Vey Series by Richard Paul Evans

This is a young adult series by my favorite author. One of my daughter’s has started reading the series and I’d like to read it with her.

HistoricalValkyrie by Philipp Fresher van Boeselager

This book has been in my stack of to-read nightstand books for a while. I bought it after the Valkyrie movie came out. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but probably will after I read this book.

BiographicalFierce Convictions by Karen Swallow Prior

This is a biography of Hannah More and was recommended by Eric Metaxas in the book 7 Women and the Secret to Their Greatness. I found the Kindle version on sale.

InspirationalPresent Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist

I am trying to use my phone less during Lent and be more present with my family, so I think this book will be a big help. I’ve heard great things about it. I also have a study guide I’m going to use while I read it to get the most from the book.

ClassicPrince Caspian by C.S. Lewis

I am reading through the Narnia series with my children. We have read The Magician’s Nephew and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

Online book club: A Paris Apartment by Michelle Gable

Read more about this choice at the link above.

Moms book clubAll the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood

I don’t know much about this book at all, but the person who chose it for our book club has very good tastes in books, so it should be a good one.

Advanced Copies/Book Launch books:

Sunshine in Spring by Joi Copeland

Everything You Always Wanted to Know about God by Eric Metaxas

The Chilbury Ladies’ Choir by Jennifer Ryan

Strange Medicine by Mike Russell
