I have a special section on my bookshelf of books that have been signed by the author. Only two were bought after they had been signed – the rest were from times I got to meet the author and tell them how much I enjoyed reading their books.
In April, I read 11 books, bringing my 2019 total to 40 books. I read two young adult books - one fantasy and one dystopian. I read one book about parenting, one about eating well and three about being more successful. I read some wonderful fiction books, too, including a bestseller. I also listened to a historical book about a murder being solved because of wireless radio technology.
We want to know our story – our place in this world. We do not all seek fame, but we all seek to be remembered in some way. Notre Dame was the place for 850 years where people got married, baptized babies, cried tears of grief and worshipped God. It is part of their stories.
If you have not tried reading on an e-reader and you love to read, I would highly recommend asking someone if you can borrow one and try it out. It is the best way to find out if it’s something you would like. If you love to read, though, having an e-reader will only give you ways to read even more – and that might be dangerous …
Want to read more this year? I know many people who have set reading goals for this year, wanting to read a certain number of book. Others have just said they wanted to read more in general. I think the best way to meet the goal of reading more is to find some good books that are relatively easy to read and add those to your list of to-read books for the year.
