“It took more than a pretty face to win her over. ‘I’d be crazy to consider traveling with a complete stranger.’”
Ashley Davison wants to get home to Seattle for Christmas, but can’t buy a plane ticket. When she tries to get a rental car, she finds it’s the last one, but she’s not old enough to rent it. In Dashing Through the Snow, the man behind her is and he also wants to get to Seattle for a job interview. They decide to share the ride, not knowing that the real reason Ashley can’t buy a ticket is that the feds think she is on the Do Not Fly list – and they’re after her!
I usually read several holiday books in December to get into the Christmas spirit. I was looking for some audiobooks, too, and Dashing Through the Snow was available right away. Macomber is a reliable source for a good holiday book with a little romance. I’ve enjoyed many of her books, especially since I lived near Seattle for a few years and can picture many of the areas she talks about in her books.
Dashing Through the Snow follows along as Ashley and the man, Dash, encounter obstacle after obstacle slowing their way to Seattle – an argument, an abandoned puppy, a snowstorm and some switched license plates. There are also federal agents following them who seem to be thwarted at every turn by the terrorist they are after. When all the worlds finally collide, Ashley and Dash have to face the reality of the bond they’ve developed in just over 24 hours.
I really enjoyed listening to Dashing Through the Snow. The characters come alive rather quickly and are easy to relate with. There was humor all throughout the book and a touch of realism. I just recently saw that Dashing Through the Snow was made into a movie and I’ll have to go find it soon. It should be a good holiday movie.
