#MeetTheWriter: Doorway

“If the door is closed …”

If the office door is closed my family knows someone is eating, working or on the phone in the room. Knocking on the door or opening it is to be avoided at all costs. Usually a text has to be sent and permission granted to get access to the office when the door is closed – during the day.

At night, the door is closed to keep the cats out. Having two cats exponentially increases the mischief that can be accomplished. A cat can run in and in less than 10 seconds can jump on the desk, then file cabinet and then to the top of the bookshelf. I have come home to items knocked over, books off the shelves and cabinet doors open.
