My book was published!

Last November, I participated in NaNoWriMo and wrote an entire novel in a month. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and it challenges people to write 50,000 words during November. I finished The Ring then and then worked on editing it during the next few months. I also started contacting agents to try and get the book published.

I was accepted by BlkDog Publishing, which is an independent publisher. That means that while they help me publish and promote the book, they do not have editing services to work with me on editing the book. I did have several people go through it for me and tried to make it as polished as I could without a professional editor.

The Ring was published as an ebook on August 8, 2019, and was ready as a paperback about a week later. An audiobook format will be available in a few months. Here is the synopsis:

Amanda knows three things about her life – she loves living in Tacoma, she wants to be a teacher and she will never marry a man in the military. Yet, when Lucas comes into the coffee shop where she works wearing a flight suit, he starts to change her mind about her future. She is determined to just be his friend, but the chemistry between them is undeniable and their relationship survives through two deployments and him being on work trips almost half of the time.
After they get married, they move across the country to Charleston, S.C., and Amanda finds a job, which helps somewhat with the loneliness of Lucas being gone a lot. She thought she was prepared for life as a military wife, but then she starts finding out the true sacrifices military families make.

If you are interested and read The Ring, please leave an honest review on Amazon after you read it. It really helps with Amazon’s algorithms to have reviews from people who bought the book.

I also want to say thank you to all my blog supporters who have supported my quest to have a novel published! Thank you! This is just the first … more to come!
