I have a special section on my bookshelf of books that have been signed by the author. Only two were bought after they had been signed – the rest were from times I got to meet the author and tell them how much I enjoyed reading their books.
In April, I read 11 books, bringing my 2019 total to 40 books. I read two young adult books - one fantasy and one dystopian. I read one book about parenting, one about eating well and three about being more successful. I read some wonderful fiction books, too, including a bestseller. I also listened to a historical book about a murder being solved because of wireless radio technology.
I am trying to read at a slower pace this year and read books that are already in my house on or my Kindle. I read 9 books in January and two of those were books I already had on hand. The rest were library books (including an audiobook) except for The Tattooist of Auschwitz, which I bought for a book club I started locally.

I think the best way to meet the goal of reading more is to find some good books that are relatively easy to read and add those to your list of to-read books for the year.

[sg_popup id=”17″ event=”onload”][/sg_popup] I read a little slower this month as I was also participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and succeeded by writing 50,000 words of a new novel. I did read a few very captivating fiction books and learned some new things from some great non-fiction books. […]
[sg_popup id=”17″ event=”onload”][/sg_popup] I read a variety of books in October. I read self-help, fiction, parenting and scary books (it is October after all). With the change in the weather, I feel like I read slower and enjoyed not rushing through any books. I’m about caught up on all book […]
